December 17, 2009

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today received the endorsement of the Texas Retailers Association (TRA) PAC for re-election.

“The Texas Retailers Association PAC is proud to be among the list of Texas trade associations in endorsing Gov. Perry for re-election,” said Gary Huddleston, Chair of TRAPAC. “Gov. Perry has demonstrated a strong commitment to limited government and market-based solutions that has served Texas well. Under his leadership, Texas has led the nation in creating and attracting new jobs, and promoting a strong and diversified business climate in challenging times. Additionally, Gov. Perry has consistently reached out to the retailing community to listen and respond to our unique concerns.”

TRA, the voice of Texas retail since 1926, is a trade association representing the interests of thousands of retail outlets across the state. The mission of the TRA is to be a strong advocate for the retail industry and to provide value-added services and programs pertinent to our members.

“Texas retailers are a crucial component of our state economy, supplying the goods Texans depend upon every day,” said Gov. Perry. “I’m honored to have their support in my campaign for re-election and committed to upholding principles of limited government, reasonable regulations and low taxes that will allow them to thrive well into the future.”
