Over the past few weeks, I've been traveling to districts across Texas to visit with members of the Legislature. I'm talking to members in both parties about the challenges that face the state of Texas and what ideas they may for moving the state forward.
Recently we learned that as the nation's economy continues to cool, nearly half of the new jobs created in the United States since 2007 have been created right here in Texas! That's a remarkable number especially when you consider that if Texas were its own nation, we'd be the 5th largest economy in the world. Since 2003, we've created 1.2 million net new jobs, surpassed New York in population, and overtaken California as the #1 exporting state in the country!
However, we must not rest on our accomplishments. That is why I'm taking the time to personally visit with Republicans and Democrats across Texas to find out not only what's going on in their lives and in their districts, but to share ideas as to how we can continue to improve this great state.

Fire at the Mansion
I remeber having tea at the Governor's Mansion with Laura Bush back in the late "90s. I am so thankful that I had the oppertunity to actually tour the Mansion and I am so happy that I have the pictures to remind me of it's beauty.
