AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced athenahealth Inc. is expanding its Austin operations, creating 607 jobs and a projected capital investment of more than $13 million. The state is providing $5 million through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) to close the deal on this expansion and job creation. Execution of the state's agreement is contingent upon finalization of a local incentive offer as required by program criteria.
In February 2013, Texas Governor Rick Perry launched a radio campaign blitz in California intended to lure businesses big and small to relocate to Texas. These thirty second advertisements emphasized “zero income tax, low overall tax burden, sensible regulations and fair tax system.”

SAN ANTONIO – Gov. Rick Perry today touted the important strides Texas has made in bolstering transportation infrastructure in the state since 2001. The governor spoke at the Ninth Annual Texas Transportation Forum, where the Texas Transportation Commission announced the creation of the Governor Rick Perry Leadership in Transportation Award. Beginning next year, the award will be presented annually to recognize leaders who have shown a commitment to advancing transportation infrastructure in Texas.
