Texas Economy Bucking the National Trends

Although the national economy continues to struggle, Texas is not following the national trend. Business Facilities Magazine recently said, "with the 12th largest economy in the world (if it were considered a nation), Texas now leads the U.S. in job creation, gross state product, low unemployment rate, and foreign direct investment. Part of the Lone Star State's success stems from proactive government policies and incentives, low taxes, reasonable regulations, solid infrastructure, and good quality of life."

Great Job

This is the kind of leadership we need in Washington. I live in Ohio and know we don't have this kind of leadership in the Buckeye state. So I am starting the Perry 2012 chant now !

Outside looking in, you have realized a simple truth some people don't want to admit. Your summary about the kind of leadership that is needed in Washington is excellent; and I agree with you totally. There are many people who love the governor and support his agenda. May God bless them all. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to you and yours.

KBH in a Pickle

Given current trends, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson (and announced Perry opponent) may find herself in a no-win situation in 2010.

Here's how it would work. If Texas manages to weather the economic storm better than the rest of the country, Governor Perry can successfully argue that his fiscally conservative leadership is working, and voters would most likely be willing to stay the course, so KBH loses in the primary.

But if Texas manages to perform miserably, then even if KBH takes the primary, the voters seek change and vote in the Dems in the general election, so KBH still doesn't get her wish to become Gov.

I agree

I'm still a Texas resident (active military residing in NM), and I've been saying "Perry '12" ever since we were stuck with McCain in the primary.

I agree

As an active duty AF officer, I reside in NM - although I'm still a TX resident. Ever since we were stuck with McCain in the primary, I've been sounding the "Perry '12" message among friends. I think I've got some of the non-Texans listening.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays
