Internet Sabotage: Denial of Service Attack

Statement from Texans for Rick Perry Spokesman Mark Miner Concerning Internet Sabotage

“Today’s ‘Talkin' Texas’ webcast by Gov. Perry was deliberately interrupted by a denial-of-service attack, preventing countless users from logging in to view the Governor’s remarks. This planned and coordinated attack was political sabotage, and we are working to identify those responsible for this illegal activity. Before the attack was initiated, more than 22,000 users were able to log in and view Gov. Perry’s complete remarks, which will be distributed shortly.”

The "Talkin' Texas" page will host the archived video as planned, for those who were unable to log on and watch.

Oh snap!

I just thought it was too many for the connection to handle!! I wasn't upset by it but now that I know that it was political sabotage, I am pissed at whoever did it!!! I hope they are caught and brought to justice! But now we know that our Governor has people scared so they feel that they need to sabotage his message. No worries, Texans will not stand for the cheating, we're behind Governor Perry 110% and will not give whoever did this a pass!

Denial of Service Attack

I was able to view the Governor's remark and was able to post one comment, but as soon as I then posted the words, "Of course we need Governor Perry, not Kay Bailey" from that point on I was unable to post another comment at all. I just thought you might like to know that.

Talkin' Texas sabotage

No wonder I wasn't able to get in! I thought the servers were overloaded. This sabotage event should make us all even more determined to cheer on and support Rick Perry for a successful re-election in 2010.

Unable to log into show

I thought it was just me- But I can see others had the same problem of not being able to view the meeting.
I wasn't able to try and log on until 11:31,tried several times but received the same message of denial-of-service.
I thought it was because I was too late to sign on.
I'm glad there is an explantion of whats going on.

Its very upsetting to have this type of thing happen, but doesn't deter myself and my family, from still planning on supporting Gov Perry.

Sabotage

I thought something was up when I saw a blue icon in the window and in the address bar at the top that looked like a tear drop with an unhappy face on it. It actually looked a bit evil. It asked me if I needed to install something; making me think that some kind of virus might be behind it. I hope you find whoever it was and prosecute them for violation of the First Amendment.

I tried to connect & got rejected. But you know, now that we know the reason, it's good that someone's looking in to this & will address the responsible parties.

So that was the reason we couldn't get connected! mmmmmmm - well at least there's a team looking in to this & will hopefully address the responsible parties in an appropriate manner.

The sabotage didn't even phase me - it just made me want to watch the video even more when it would be posted later! :)
